No longer a joke?

The idea of "gas station sushi" has always served as a comic concept, the joke being in the sharp contrast between a dusty, smelly filling station and a gourmet food such as sushi (don't eat it myself, but it's supposed to be kinda ooh-la-la).

Here's a fellow who turned the joke into an opportunity: "This North Carolina Gas Station Is Serving Some Of The South's Best Sushi".

  1. I’ve been all over the country and I’ve never seen sushi at a gas station. Our local Kroger store does employee a sushi chef, though, and has a special case dedicated to daily sushi. I like it, but eat it rarely because it’s beaucoup expensive.
