This stuff was under discussion here recently, so here's a video on its history and how it's manufactured.
Mrs. Paco uses it as one of the ingredients in the marinade she makes for my beef jerky (the others are, as I recall, soy sauce and pineapple juice, as well as salt and pepper).

ReplyDeleteOops. Fingers before the brain kicked in. Incidentally, I hate blogger. That said, I was friends with a GI wife from the Philippines who taught me to marinade various meats (beef or chicken) with soy sauce and lemon juice with a touch of garlic. Always do it now.
ReplyDeleteAustralians have their own brand of Worcestershire - Holbrooks. It was only about 20 years ago that I discovered there was any other brand.
ReplyDeleteI've tried Lea and Perrin but Holbrooks has got its hooks in my taste buds, and it's not letting go.
