Your comment takes me back to the early 1980s, when Bobby Sands of the IRA made suicide by fasting fashionable. A few followed his example. But the fashion didn't catch on in a big way.
ReplyDeleteThe suicide bombers of the Middle East were a similar phenomenon. That trend was on its way out when someone admitted publicly that they gave that 'honour' to the adherents who were not so bright.
This current Pretti/Good wave shows that the not so bright ones are self-selecting these days.
