  4. The local deludeds love that 'Australia is an immigrant nation' line, but they ignore the differences between immediate postwar migration and more recent waves. IPWMs came to Australia with no expectations of a river of handouts. They understood the concept of assimilation too.
    There was a migrant hostel/camp a few miles from my boyhood home. The 'homes' were Nissen huts and there was usually two or three families in each. Privacy was maintained with blankets thrown over a rope.
    ...
    Maybe if we went back to providing those amenities to the modern intake, they'd howl in fright and head home.
