"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh

It would be fun...
,,,but if I tried something like this at the range I go to, I imagine I'd be asked to leave.
If one of your steps is, 'and then you run', I'll watch from way over here.
OT, but is anybody else annoyed by Ace's new, 'Watch this ad before you can read my post' stuff? I was already annoyed by how busy his site is, but this is exponentially more annoying. I already couldn't read it on my phone, it would freeze then shut down the browser, but this too much. I don't think I'll be reading him anymore. Too bad, I like his take on stuff but I don't think it's worth it. He can do what he wants on his site, I do what I want with my clicks.
Yeah, I just noticed over the last couple of days that when I use my cell phone to check out his blog, and I hit the "continue reading" link at the bottom of most of his posts the blog site blurs and I get an advertisement. I have to go out and come back in. It is annoying. Doesn't happen when I access via computer, though.
I like Ace, I think he's one of the smartest and funniest bloggers out there; however, I've fallen into the habit of spending a lot more time lately reading the comments, and actually commenting myself, which has turned into a pointless time suck. The vibe in the comment section there is much different, and a lot less healthy, than the ambiance of the comment section at Tim Blair's old blog, which is the only other place I've done any significant commenting. In any event, I'm giving up Ace's comment section for Lent.
The original morons stopped commenting mostly and his comment section got annoying. Once he got 'new comments thingy' it went to crap. My laptop started with the ads too, that's why I stopped reading. I miss the aughts for blogs, it was fun.

I've been using Brave for several years (ever since Firefox dumped Brandon Eich) and it absolutely kills ads and pop ups.
DeleteThat's a classic "Hold my beer!" episode ... ... I wouldn't touch that with a vaccinated crowbar.
ReplyDeleteI'd be standing w-a-y back when holding that beer.
