Wake me when the revolution starts

James Talarico. Abdul El-Sayed. And that weirdo in Maine who defeated Susan Collins. I feel like I've just woken up in Cuba.

For the near future, I plan on hunkering down, staying close to home, and maintaining a frugal existence. And focusing more on my ultimate spiritual destination. Hard times comin'.

Update  I notice that gold is up over $130 an ounce. Probably just a coincidence.

  1. Yep, it ain't gonna be pretty.

I do want to note that, at least for the Senate, the change from indifference and passive aggressiveness (à la Thune) to outright hatred (i.e., Schumer) won't make much practical difference.

On the flip side, Trump still has his pen and phone.

    1. Well said. Best case, the donks waste a lot of time trying to impeach Trump (and the Senate is more than a dozen short of the number needed to remove him from office), and any crazy bills get vetoed.

  2. This is small comfort, but now they have to govern. They made a lot of big promises they can’t possibly fulfill, and if they spend the next two years fiddlefarting around with lawfare, 2028 will be a slaughter of Democrats.

    1. I believe they will grossly overreach, as they always do.

  3. PJ Media has a reminder that 2008 was worse, cold comfort, but we did survive 8 years of Obama...

    1. True, and I have to remember, as a Catholic, that man is not going to create heaven on earth - or anything like it.

  4. I am surprised, as an outsider, just how many of your fellow countrypersons felt the need for an up close personal Mamdani Experience. Well before another twelve months pass, you'll be wishing you had a dollar for every time you say
'Well, you voted for it' to Dems or 'Did you stay home (again)?' to Republicans.
Maybe it's time to move to Florida, before it's completely full. Folks there seen a tad more aware than elsewhere.

    1. Florida is already full. Refugees from blue states should probably consider any of the other sadly diminishing red states, and tragically, that’s not Texas anymore.

  5. I don't think the dems will limit their impeachment orgy to just Trump. Everybody is a target from Vance to Hegseth to Alito and on down the line. The one thing they will succeed at is eliminating the filibuster.

    1. You have that right, A&A. They want blood, in copious quantities, and they do everything they can to get it.

And the GOPe will help. There's already talk of firing Hesgeth ... ... which would be a huge mistake.

  6. Watching Vance, I'd have to say I'm done with him.
The only difference after this election is that we'll have a lot of impeachment BS. The Dems could not try to stymie Trump's agenda any more than the GOP was doing.
I wonder if the Dems will send up all manner of things their voters want they know Trump will veto.
Like the GOP did while Obama was POTUS.
Things are gonna be messed up.
I will say I moved to the correct county in KY.
The GOP House candidate won 139,000 to 49,000.
He's been in Congress since 1981, but hopefully he's a good guy.
