The hope and change I'm holding out for is that this US presidential election (and the War on Terror, or whatever they're calling it these days) will finally deal a death blow to political correctness and identity politics, and usher in a period of common sense and fairness for everybody (the real deal, not some airy-fairy lefty academic sense of "fairness" applied only to certain groups).RebeccaHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15113907852048577121noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6935370618605188900.post-56027937824674765502008-06-15T16:25:00.000-04:002008-06-15T16:25:00.000-04:00The Dems really screwed themselves this time, lett...The Dems really screwed themselves this time, letting an unqualified black guy and an unqualified white woman go head to head. Identity politics took over and it became a horrible spectacle of trying to establish which was the most victimized. Sort of a political equivalent of the old TV show Queen for a Day. Anyway it obscured the salient fact that they both were far to the left and neither had any actual executive credentials.

I think Obama's momentum is going to start dropping as the campaign progresses and his paper thin resume becomes more of an issue. not to mention all the vile baggage he has managed to accumulate over the past 20 years. Of course a complicit MSM will keep assuring us that such things are a "distraction" and we need to focus on all the wonderful hopeychange we're due.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6935370618605188900.post-10683957550745764562008-06-15T10:43:00.000-04:002008-06-15T10:43:00.000-04:00There'll be a black President in the White House o...There'll be a black President in the White House one day, but I don't think it'll be Obama.

If it was someone else with different policies, the story would be much different.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6935370618605188900.post-50362494447947413322008-06-15T10:19:00.000-04:002008-06-15T10:19:00.000-04:00Mehaul: I think it's one of those situations where...Mehaul: I think it's one of those situations where everybody wakes up one morning, looks around in astonishment, and asks, "How the hell did this happen?"

Truth to tell, Obama's rise has a lot to do with his being an African-American. There is a natural interest among many in seeing a black man finally become a major party's candidate for president - and I'd be thrilled, too, if it were somebody like Thomas Sowell or Michael Steele. But a new edition of Jimmy Carter? No, thanks!Pacohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08004124282907287652noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6935370618605188900.post-6548780168140496822008-06-15T06:42:00.000-04:002008-06-15T06:42:00.000-04:00I'm confused. How do guys like this get into positions of authority like this in a country like the USofA.

I thought you guys had a built in fuck off factor for such occasions.

Have the progressives got that much clout. I must be naive and have a somewhat false picture of the total country. MehaulAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
