Riots, then and now

Robert Avrech at Seraphic Secret recollects some frightening moments during the 1992 L.A. riots. A gripping personal account, well worth a read.

That was well worth the read, because I have a feeling within the next year or two, we're all going to need that advice.

It is a good read. The DGA (Director's Guild of America) is on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. I didn't know that the mobs had reached there.

Though I live in the San Fernando Valley, which was removed from the major violence, the tv reports made everyone tense. I broke curfew to get to a friend's apartment because he had a gun. It was an eerie scene with few people out.

There are no anti-gun people in riots.
