Good news!

We federal government employees are dying out!
“Only 9 percent of the federal workforce is made up of people younger than 30 — compared to 23 percent of the total U.S. workforce,” the report says. “By 2017, nearly two-thirds of the Senior Executive Service, our nation’s career leadership corps, will be eligible for retirement, and about 31 percent of the government’s permanent career employees will be able to head out the door.”
I myself have three years, 9 months and 24 days to retirement. Not that I’m counting.

I have either 2 years, 8 months, and 28 days, OR 4 years, 8 months, and 28 days. I haven't decided which as yet.

The problem is, from where I sit, we have a butt load of employees who are ill prepared to run the machines within the Federal government.

Please note that I did NOT say "run the country" -- except "run the country into the ground". Which may accelerate after the current generation escapes, er, I mean, RETIRES. Yes, retires!

Anywho, I see that as a problem. Not all of our generation has been mentoring the younger generation, or they have been prevented from doing so, for one idiotic reason or another.

So, by my calculations, you should work only a month or two for Hillary or Jeb. Have I got that right?

Something like that, yes (only I hope you have both the Hillary and Jeb part wrong, but I fear you do not).

OT but related, Paco: Do you know where your retirement application will go to for processing?

Mr. H made himself a calendar when he was 3 years out, and marked off every day. When the day came, he never looked back.
