To John Moses Browning, whose genius is succinctly but effectively described in this View From the Porch.

I read his biography a long time ago, after I got my first Browning. In fact, three of my first four guns were Brownings. Wish I still had'em.
He was one of those rare individuals with a gift to see things in a way other people never could.
