The ageless Dick Clark, for hot Dr. Pepper.
Never really "got" the idea of hot Dr. Pepper. I imagine it must taste a bit like sassafras tea or something similar; but doesn't the carbonation boil off when you heat it up?
"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
never tried it, but the carbonation would be gone, warm flat soda, something that you might give a kid with an upset stomach.
ReplyDeleteNot sure anything tastes like sassafras tea, but hot Dr. Pepper with lemon might be good. Although I wonder if adding the lemon is what makes it taste good.
ReplyDeleteI can drink room temperature soda if I'm desperately thirsty, but hot Dr. Pepper sounds vile. I do like adding lemon to zCOLD soda
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid, during the summer Ma Paco would occasionally crush some ice the old fashioned way - she'd put ice cubes in a clan pillow case maintained for the purpose, and hit it with a hammer. Then she'd put the ice in tall glasses, fill them with Pepsi, and add a squeeze of lemon. My brother and I loved the stuff.
DeleteA "clan" pillow case? I'm going to assume your proofreader missed an e, not that you're exposing a bit of family history that might be best if it remains covered. :-)
