The article says that the sheriff has no police duties ("... with a mission that includes court security, the service of legal process, prisoner transport, fugitive apprehension, and sheriff’s sales ...")
That sheriff's department is barely above rent-a-cop status!
I'm guessing when the city and county consolidated, they decided having two local law enforcement agencies wasn't a good idea, which is not unreasonable.
But that "sheriff" is so full of herself, she publicly outed herself as a nitwit.
Very similar to the independent cities of Virginia, which are not part of a county, but do typically have a sheriff's department that is in charge of the same stuff: courthouse security, prisoner transport, process serving, etc.

ReplyDeleteI hope I am not suffering from a form of TDS but that Bob Day fool bears a striking resemblance (apart from the red hair) to our fearless leader Anthony Albanese, even down to a slight lisp and a disingenuous manner that makes me want to break his nose.
ReplyDeleteNow if you hadn't heard, Albanese's conception was the result of a shipboard fling his mother had with an Italian crew member whilst on a European cruise with her parents. She raised him as a single mother in public housing and on an invalid pension for the rest of her life. I grew up poor in Sydney in the 1960's and believe me European cruises were as rare as rockinghorse shit.
I wonder if Bob Day's mother may have taken a similar criuse and gave the cabin boy a generous tip.
I do see something of a resemblance. Btw, Italian crew members have a lot to answer for!
