...to our Antipodal friends for ANZAC day. Friend, commenter and fellow blogger Gregory has a good post on the subject, and the fighting spirit that continues to assert itself in these days of attempted woke oppression: "2026: An ANZAC Day reflection".
As is her custom, my daughter made a batch of Anzac biscuits for the occasion.
ReplyDeleteHad to look up "Anzac biscuits" - they are, of course, what we Americans call "cookies". They look delicious!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Paco. This was one of those moments when I started the day with a vague idea of what to say and not much idea of how to say it.
ReplyDeleteThe post rolled out of its own volition late afternoon. I just had to type and stay out of its way.
And Mick left another example of his own storytelling skills in the comments, in case you missed that.
"We forgot that the enemy doesn’t always make itself visible.
ReplyDeleteSometime it hides among us."
"Satan's greatest trick was convincing people he didn't exist."
I'm not a great believer in Satan as an actual entity, but the evil that resides in some human hearts is real. I've seen enough of it to believe that, and right now it's running rampant.
