The western Virginia counties need to seriously consider this offer

Late last year, West Virginia invited 27 Virginia counties to join the Mountain State, and they might want to seriously weigh that option in view of the special vote last night, in which Virginia's Democrat and idiot low-information voters (there is considerable overlap) approved a new redistricting plan that likely would reduce Republican representation to 1 out of 11 congressman, instead of the present 5: "Virginia voters approve redistricting plan that could boost Democrats' seats in Congress".

If Washington and Jefferson could have seen what Governor Spanführer and her corps of idiot voters were going to do to the state, I'm not sure they would have bothered.

There is still some hope that the state supreme court will overrule this plan, so I'll keep a good thought - for now.

  2. It's already been ruled unconstitutional by a district court judge.

FYI .... the article says "district court", even if the URL says "virginia-supreme-court".

    2. that's what I'm thinking... especially after someone suggested that an Executive Order declaring the decoupling of Arlington and Alexandria, VA from DC was unconstitutional has been suggested, and I really don't want to be made a part of DC.

  4. We spent a year in Alexandria while Mr. H attended the language school that the military maintained in Chrystal City at the time. It was a craphole then, and I doubt it’s improved much in the fifty years since. Move away, Tom.

    2. for some reason, I think it's related to Amazon HQ2, Crystal City has been rebranded National Landing, though you still take the Metro to the Crystal City Metro Station.
They're also closing all the Crystal City Underground shops.
