But unfortunately not: "CIA Senior Official Stole $40 Million in GOLD BARS".
Update Any mention of gold bars is likely to lead to references to Kelly's Heroes. The first scene here is one of my favorites.

My first thought was, c'mon, Paco, she's not that smart. Then I read the article and saw that you didn't have to be smart, all you needed to be able to do was lie.
ReplyDeleteOkay, that's right up her alley.
Okay, $40 million sounds like a lot. I mean, it's more than I make in a week, so yeah. But since we're talking gold bars here, I'd like a more visual description. How many gold bars are we talking about here? And how big are they? Like, in TV and movies we always see gold bars about the size of a brick, but watch the ads for Lear Capital or whatever and the "bars" look like game tokens.
ReplyDelete600 lbs or so I think.
DeleteIt would take both Clint Eastwood and Telly Sevalas to get that out without anybody noticing.
I'm thinking they had Oddball watching the gold.
Oddjob?
DeleteOddball, Donald Sutherland's tanker in Kelly's Heroes, where they steal tons of gold from a bank behind enemy lines.
DeleteThe perfect caper!
"Always with the negative waves, Moriarty!"
DeleteStephen beat me to it!
DeleteHR at Langley has a few questions to answer. Starting with 'How are you people so damn stupid and still upright?'
ReplyDeleteProbably because they recruit from places like Yale.
