Looks like California may well go out with a whimper, not a bang

The perfect "thought leader" for low information voters who don't think.
The problem is that they've spent decades feeling superior because of how smart they are. They cannot admit, especially to themselves, that they were wrong on so many issues and the window-licking mouth-breathers were right.
'if we vote for the people we’ve been voting for, uh, mumble mumble mumble.' They could vote for Pratt and lie about it, but that means keeping up a solid facade for years to come. Most don't trust themselves that far. And they remember how quick they were themelves to react at the first whiff of prevarication. 'Stayed home' will romp it in on election day.
