"Business Leader Calls on New York City to Resist Mamdani".
Ken Griffin, the billionaire founder of hedge fund Citadel, urged business leaders to resist the socialism of New York City Democratic Mayor Zohran Mamdani, warning that the Big Apple’s business environment will otherwise be destroyed.
Griffin said at a June 18 event in Manhattan that business leaders “need to find their voice and fight for their city,” per a report from Fox Business.
I agree with Mr. Griffin that Mamdani needs to be smote hip and thigh (figuratively speaking...naturally). But here's the thing: anti-socialist billionaires in NYC are bound to be outnumbered by the combination of people who (a) want free stuff, and (b) can't be bothered to vote (more on the latter here).
An uphill battle, to be sure, but my guess is that these parlor Marxists are going to flop big, eventually. Probably to be replaced by the phony moderates of the Democratic Party (more pink than red, but, if anything, much more dangerous over the long haul because of the inscrutably deficient powers of discernment existing among large swaths of the electorate, who may shrink from an avowed communist, but are easily taken in by the melodious piffle of progressive crooners).
I predict New York is going to be swamped by Muslim “tourists” who somehow never go home.
ReplyDeleteGooder and harder.
ReplyDeleteIn a few years they're going to look around and realize all the restaurants they're so proud of are hallal and Big Finance isn't coming back.
I figure after some hard introspection they'll know who to blame.
