The purpose of the Egyptian visage and the cobra is to conjure up associations with the orient, and hence, oriental (probably Turkish) tobacco. I think the ad has an interesting art nouveau look. Btw, "naja" is the generis name for cobra.
Yes, I was thinking Turkish tobacco is a thing but didn't think Egyptian was. And as we all know, James Bond smoked a specially custom brand of Turkish and Balkan tobacco.
I have to wonder at the idea of branding a cigarette as a poisonous snake.

Well, I've never had the least bit of interest in smoking cigarettes, but after seeing this ad...I have even less.

DeleteI've never heard anything good about French cigs, smelly and harsh is about the norm.
