I always liked Dolly’s singing, and I admired her for coming from nothing to becoming one of the richest women in the world. She was a remarkable person, and I’m incredibly moved by her passing.
ReplyDeleteDolly was always one of the (few) celebrities that I thought would be good to have as a friend. The 'fun to be around' kind of friend.
ReplyDeleteThe backstory - common among prior generations of country music performers - is inspiring: hardscrabble beginnings, early determination to succeed, relentless hard work and striving. And she seems to have been a very generous and compassionate person. We need more of her kind.
