Canada looks for alternatives to Starlink

Don Surber: "Actually, it is rocket science, Canada".

On September 29, 1962, Canada became the third country to design and build its own satellite. The USA put Alouette 1 in space. Canada has never used its own rocket to launch a satellite into orbit.
In 64 years since Alouette 1, Canada has launched a free health care system that now just goes ahead and kills patients rather than treat them. Social justice spending accounts for 17.2% (one-sixth) of its GDP.
0.043% of its gross domestic product goes to space, the Final Frontier.
Canada’s main contributions to space are actors William Shatner and James Doohan, who played Captain Kirk and Scottie, respectively, on Star Trek.
To put its satellites in orbit, Canada now uses SpaceX.

On another note: Voters in Alberta wussed out and voted overwhelmingly to reject independence from Canada.

Keep living in Big Brother's basement, guys. See where it gets you.

  1. Being Canadian, Albertans are just too polite to say FU to Mark Carney.
On the upside, Breitbart points out that the support for leaving has moved upward to 25% from only 2% a couple of years ago. The politeness may be wearing thin.

    1. Come on, Albertans, let's get that percentage up!

    2. Maybe the support will come like a sudden tsunami, as with the One Nation party over here. Pauline Hanson has been saying the same thing since she entered politics thirty years ago; the rest of the country has shifted, not her.

  2. Living, as I do, 60 miles south of Alberta, I had my eye on this vote. And I am unsurprised at the results.

    Canuckistan remains ... Canadian.

  3. Too bad about Alberta. Oh well. We’ll see how they feel when Ottawa takes away their oil and ranching industries.
