Behind Enemy Lines in Occupied Northern Virginia

Here at the Paco secret command post, we always fly our flag proudly, and never with greater pride than on Memorial Day. God bless our troops.

Although I live ten miles from Washington, and no closer to the Beltway than three miles as the crow flies, I was awakened yesterday morning by Rolling Thunder. There's something about the throaty roar of Hogs en masse that gives me a tingle down my spine (like the national anthem, or bagpipes).

Happy Memorial Day to everyone.

Following on to Paco's post, I and my family are grateful to all those brave souls - and their families - who sacrificed so much so that we could live free and enjoy this beautiful day.

God Bless them all.

Happy Memorial Day from Florida. I'm celebrating with a small case of flu.

Attended the Run to the Wall with My Chief & some friends (2 from Florida, 1 from Maryland, 3 from Indiana) 4 years ago. Magnificent.

Freedom Is Not Free. Bless 'em all.

My sentiments as well. In fact, I shook the hand and said the same thing to U.S. Special Forces Officer, that visited our golf course yesterday. (He didn't tell me he was, his family did, as he was being shipped to Iraq or Afghanistan, next month)

Even gave this gentle and brave soul a permanent "rain check" to play.

Told him, the trick to this thing IS, YOU MUST come back, to use it.

I hope everyone is having a relaxing Memorial Day. When do we get the scotch and cigars on the veranda? Cordially-RR Ryan

Paco. Congratulations and I hope this blog garners much recognition as a leading site. Best wishes for Memorial Day. From the blogs it appears to a remembrance type day for fallen soldiers and a reason to consider the freedoms they died for.

I dips me lid to them from afar.

Nice home. Do you party on that front lawn?

What a magnificent Manor for Detective Paco and other assorted Pacos to reside in!

Happy Memorial Day to you all.

You have a lovely manse, Paco.

Wish I could have been there for Rolling Thunder, as I share your love of inspiring noise. My own Memorial Day was spent quietly, hanging the flag from our porch, and thinking about all the loved ones passed on.

So that's the Paco retreat? It looks lovely!

Such a peaceful-looking home for the amount of comic spiffiness pouring our of it apace!

Those boards must quiver every time you approach the computer! "Oh no", they groan " more brain-propelled vibrations to withstand! Still, we have the dogged, if supersed, power of the Confederacy in these planks! Ok, boys, he's trated up! Hold hard, now!"

And so the whirring of Paco's brain, keyboard and coffee-cups* are deflected from the bovine world outside for another day.
*Unless you're a pre-, during- and post-prandial brandy and snifter man.

Say, is there a drink a Snifterjulep? Just asking.

Happy Memorial day to the Pacos.

Ok, that's
"pouring OUT of it apace"

"..superseded power of the Confederacy"

and "Ok boys, he's cranked it up"

I really need some new fingers.
Apologies to all.
