Assortment

1) An astonishingly elegant and perceptive quote.

2) Totalitarians always seem to have it in for the Jews. Hitler, of course, needs no introduction in connection with this phenomenon; Stalin should be familiar as an Anti-Semite, but in case he isn’t, here’s some background. Whatever the reason, I suppose it would be asking too much for Hugo Chavez to be any different.

3) Science marches on.

4) Cuba celebrates this hero of socialist labor (Bagock!)

  2. "They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore." — Isaiah 2:4 & Micah 4:3

  3. Heinlein was an intelligent and sensible man, a rare combination. I always felt that the Navy lost a potential flag officer when he had to retire medically.
