Virginia governor Tim Kaine is reportedly near the top of the list of Obama's VP possibilities, but as Jim Geraghty points out in this National Review article, he would bring very little to the ticket. His "foreign policy" experience probably doesn't extend beyond signing an agreement with North Carolina on water conservation. He doesn't strike me as a bad guy, even if he does look a little like a junior member of Murder, Inc., but in terms of national politics he's hardly the person to add ballast to one of the most lightweight Democratic presidential campaigns in history.

A vice-presidential candidate who has accomplished no more (and by that, I mean almost nothing) than the presidential candidate. Oh, yes, we can (not).
ReplyDelete"...a fascinating window into how faulty Obama’s decision making is."
ReplyDeletePaco, Rebecca, anyone...does this imply that BARRY is driving this bus? He cannot possibly be powerful enough after such a slim career to convince his staff & supporters & advisors that HE makes all the decisions, can he???
I know I may not be making my astonishment clear, but I hope you can pick up my question...BARRY is the one making all these decisions??? CAN'T be, can it?
What a maroon.
PACO Ent has irons in this fire.
ReplyDeleteJust saying ...
Cheers
He seems to be saying something about "great...tracts of land"
ReplyDeleteThere's no way a Veep candidate is allowed to be smarter or more empowering than us.

KC, no, George Sorros is driving the Obamabus.
ReplyDeleteIf I were a Republican oppo, I would be investigating Sorros and his profiteering from oil prices, and his funding of the Ubermessiah.
But I'm not, so I can only provide suggestions.
Of course it has to be Soros & his merry band of Socialist hoods. Duh. I KNEW Barry is too much of a simpleton to be the brains there, thanks Wimpy.
ReplyDeleteHeritage Day coming up Monday in Alberta. (sigh)

ReplyDeleteTo inject a no doubt unwelcome note of seriousness, as a Virginian (which I gather you to be), how do you regard the prospect of Jim Webb as Obama's VP (I'm aware he appears to have ruled himself out)? This possibility seemed to cancel out so many Obama negative that I assumed there must be some really good reasons why it won't happen but perhaps those whom he represents in the Senate may have some additional insight.
CAC: Webb would probably be one of the least objectionable choices from Obama's perspective, but he, too, is a first-term senator and lacks experience. Webb's military background could possibly provide a screen for Obama's hopeless inability to convey seriousness on foreign policy issues; however, Webb has already established a bit of a reputation as a loose cannon, and perhaps Obama feels that he may "go off" at an inopportune moment. The fact that Webb appears to have firmly ruled out the VP nod is something I find very interesting. Maybe he's convinced that Obama's likely to lose the election, or that a senate seat affords a better stepping stone to higher office than serving as a VP candidate for a loser, or (even worse) the actual Vice President in an administration that looks like a potential disaster.
