Mighty Frauds From Little ACORNs Grow

I've had mixed feelings about the bailout, but no mixed feelings at all about opposing it if it contains Senator Dodd's amendment to skim 20% of the income off the top of revenues and hand it over to the Democratic Party voter-fraud mafia known as ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now). If any further evidence was needed to prove the Democrats' fundamental lack of seriousness in passing emergency economic measures, this is it.

Think I'm exaggerating the risk? Well, then, try this on for size.

  1. As the credit markets burn the Democrats fiddle.

Why can't our elected representatives put aside the partisan games for just a day or two? Thank goodness for the House Republicans who have shown some backbone and just might be able to force legislation that benefits the American people rather than various special interest groups. Is there any wonder that Congress has an approval rating in the single digits?

Here I am, working my way into my sixth decade and I still foolishly believe that the House and Senate have the best interest of the the common citizen in mind as they try to work to lessen the impact of the credit crunch on those of us in flyover country.

The Congress can choose to create a bill to help insure a soft landing or they can play politics as usual. I'm afraid Reid, Pelosi, Dodd, Frank et al have decided that politics trumps all and to hell with the rest of us.

  2. Racist! You racist racizer, don't you know it's racistly racist to racistly criticize ACORN?

    Raaaaaaacist!

BTW, can anybody watch this stuff and then dismiss as "just talk to the base" both Obama and Biden's veiled threats to criminalize policy differences after they win?

I'm not one for apocalyptic scenarios, but I fear for our Republic if these goons get into power. Crap - why does it have to be Democrats? I was hoping for zombies.

  3. Steve: Zombies I could live with; Democrats, though...that's something else, entirely.

  4. Paco, it appears that the blatant political funding of ACORN has been removed from the bail out.

  5. Yes, the Dems were forced to compromise and drop the proposal to direct funds to those political groups (like ACORN) that subsidize the Democratic Party. That's not to say that our Congressthieves won't find a way around the compromises after the heat's off.
