Assortment

1) I guess this is still cheaper than breast implants.

2) Compare and contrast.

3) If Obama’s such a regular guy, why is he drawing the enthusiastic support of these folks? And this fellow? And this lot?

4) Mystery writer Tony Hillerman has died. If you haven’t read his who-dunnits set in Navajo country, you don’t know what you’re missing (here’s a nice tribute from The American Spectator). RIP.

Update: American Spectator link fixed.

I have a deep sorrow that Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee will no longer be solving any mysteries on the rez.

I loved his books as much as I do the desert.

I'm with ya there, Swampie - spent a couple years in Farmington, NM, many good memories. Hillerman brought it back to life for me. Joe & Jim were real friends...I'll miss 'em all.

Oh! I'm startled and saddened that Tony Hillerman has died. I spent my tenth year of life in Farmington, NM, and have loved that part of the country ever since, and read every Hillerman Leaphorn and Chee novel I could get my hands on. In fact, I happened to be in Albuquerque this past weekend, visiting with the last of my cousins.
