A frequent commenter at Tim Blair's old blog site who wound up being the blog administrator at Tizona - and an occasional correspondent with Paco Enterprises - was killed in an automobile accident.
God rest your soul, Ash, and may He comfort your family and your many friends.

This is sad news, such a bright light extinguished so early.
ReplyDeleteVale, Ash.
I didn't know her as well as some of the other commenters I've corresponded with, but she was always nice to me, and a lively wit, and far, far too young to die.
ReplyDeleteI'm terribly sorry to hear this. I remember Ash clearly. What a terrible way to go. Words are mere platitudes.
ReplyDeleteRIP!
I often read Ash's comments on the Bolt and Blair blogs and Ash always came across as a really lovely, intelligent person. So young, very sad. - (GrahamF)
ReplyDeleteHow very very sad, I always enjoyed Ash's contributions to the blogs as being a young person with her head in the right place and a wicked sense of humour. A real tragedy and my sympathies to her family.
ReplyDeleteDidn't Ash have a baby? Or am I confusing her with someone else?
ReplyDeleteSad in any event. She was a bright part of our world and way too young to go.
Rest in Peace, Ash.
blogstrop: Yes, she had a daughter, I believe. Does anyone remember the little girl's name?
ReplyDeleteI was reading through the comments at Tizona and found a mention of Ash's daughter. Her name is Ember.
ReplyDeletePaco,
ReplyDeleteAsh did not have a baby. There are a lot of things she said that were not exactly on the up and up.
I also corresponded with her, and spoke with her at times, and I liked her a lot.
A young lady named Ash died in a car crash, and while the wit and the liveliness were from that person, she was not who we knew.
I am sorry for her family's loss, as they have not only lost a daughter and a sister, but also discovered a whole world in which they were not included and fantasy reigned Walter Mitty-like.
God be with her, and especially with her family.
Hi
ReplyDeleteLike many tales told by Ash, Amadora was fantasy.
I'm sad for Ash's family, who she lived with who have had calls from mysterious people who asked after her non-existent child.
She was intelligent and witty and died too young.
I too corresponded privately with Ash. Her death is sad and shocking, but there's no getting away from the fact that, for whatever reason, the baby story and other claims were false.
ReplyDeleteAsh was very bright, mature beyond her years in many ways, well read and witty. Perhaps if she had lived she might have beaten whatever troubled her. Sadly, we'll never know. RIP, Ash.
Sandi
I had no idea that the baby story was false, although I knew that widespread skepticism had been expressed about the circumstances of the birth. Sadder and sadder.
