Hey, Obama's got some 'splainin' to do, too

Why, why, why? Why the incredible urgency to pass a health care bill that is manifestly a catastrophe? The bill has something to piss off everybody: the rich, who have just been told that they will have to pony up with higher taxes; the middle class, who are discovering that they are the ultimate tax-pigeons; the elderly, who will see the quality of their health care decline just as they need it most. Have the Democrats finally and irretrievably lost their minds?

And what is Obama's game? Does he really think that this "signature" legislation is going to make him more popular and improve his chances for reelection? Is he going to succeed in out-Clintoning Bill Clinton by salvaging his own position while his party goes down in flames? During his presidential campaign, did he so thoroughly absorb the hogwash showered on him by the bucket brigade of slop that represents the mainstream media that he now truly believes in his political invincibility? Someday, Charles Mackay's book, Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds will need to be updated to include a chapter on the tragic folly of this administration - and of those who put it in power.

If the government decides that my mother's cancer is not going to be treated because, in her 60s, she's too old, somebody is going to die. And it won't be my momma.

Similar things happening here in Kruddland. Our doctor is in despair at the reductions in Medicare support under the new regime, especially for the elderly.
Health Minister Roxon seems determined to take Australia's previously excellent health system down the same path as the UK's dysfunctional NHS.

I will most likely be one of those shut out of comprehensive health care, due to age and problems. But I worry more for my grandchildren. What kind of screwed-up world are we leaving them?

I didn't think Obama would be an especially good president, but I never in my wildest dreams imagined the train wreck he actually is.

Obama wants to make socialism work this time, and he'll wreck America to do it. A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.

But don't worry, wild mustangs will do just fine.

Obama's plan is to leave this country so weakened and insolvent that even when the inevitable backlash against his depredations occurs, it will be years if not decades before the damage is repaired.
