Hey, Barbara Boxer, You’re Quite the Dumb Ass…Ma’am

Senator Barbara “Just a Grandmother in Tennis Shoes” Boxer thinks that you Tea-Partistas are too well dressed to be genuine protesters. Apparently it hasn’t dawned on her that smelly hippies, unwashed anarchists, college pot-heads and addle-pated old harridans with a fondness for the color pink aren’t the only ones who enjoy the right to free speech; people who actually have jobs and pay taxes get to have their say-so, too.

By all means, check out that video. Anybody else get the impression that Boxer hopes people will think she’s “too well dressed” to be a socialist?

And just to be on the safe side, be sure to consult Exurban League for a description of appropriate town hall attire.

  1. The Exurban League mentions ascots, but falls short of guidance on the important question of bow ties.
Can a dashing fellow of your calibre please opine on the topic, sir?

  2. Smitty: I have long had what I'm sure is an unreasonable prejudice against bow ties, so I must recuse myself from any official decision (which would, of course, be binding on you all).

  3. Boxer is as dumb as a box of rocks. I wish that I could say "Only in California could she get elected", but we have Senator Patty Murray over here, so I can't. Dang!

And what's wrong with wearing this? In between protests, it's a fine container to store your lichee nuts.

  4. Paco: Then, in the name of tranquility, I shall be forced to muster a kravat for the next Smittypalooza. The question, sir, is when.

  5. Smitty: I am shortly expecting the arrival of some new, tailored double-breasted suits, but have sufficient in stock to be prepared for any and all paloozas on a moment's notice.

  7. Until I started reading USA blogs I thought a boxer was a dog, a pugilist or a horizontally opposed internal combustion engine. I leave it to you to decide which category fits the case before us.

  8. Ma'am? She is not deserving of the term. It is a term of respect. She gets none from this old seadog. I would refuse to treat her with any deference to her position. The congress is no longer in my Chain of Command.

  9. GM: You're right, of course. I was goofing on her well-known aversion to the title "ma'am" (she prefers to be called "senator").
