"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
This is the Chicago way. I saw this happen after Washington, the city mayor, died in office (literally -- he dropped dead at his desk).
ReplyDeleteThe transition of power was a clusterfark. At least 3 people claimed they were the legal successor. At one point, one of the city councilman claiming to be next in line bussed in several hundred people to storm and occupy the city chambers during a council session.
The mob (and it was a mob) refused to leave until the councilman was appointed mayor.
Same thing for a lot of other political events. Oh, yeah, this is the Chicago way.
If people aren't waking up to the kind of "government" we have put into place by now, they are either brain dead or bought.
