Assortment

1) Charlie Gibson of ABC is going out in a blaze of bias.

2) Finally! Obama stakes out a position that conservatives can rally ‘round.

3) Charles Johnson keeps digging; Stacy McCain fills in the hole.

4) Rickety Click provides a great analogy.

5) The Obama Foreign Policy checklist:

Bully a small but faithful ally that has been sincerely trying to uphold democracy: check.

Wallow in complete cluelessness on the subject of the perfidy of Iran’s theocracy: check

Cozy up with thuggish regimes: check.

Trade war with China: check.

Cave to Russian strongman Vladimir Putin by canceling missile defense sites in Poland and the Czech Republic: check.

Mark my word; before the end of his term, Obama is going to make Jimmy Carter look like Metternich.

  1. Obama Administration to Poland and the Czech Republic: Find the nearest bus and get under it, unless you can find a rolling freight train of course. Not news to them since Poland signed an energy pact with mother Russia shortly after Obama was elected. You could certainly consider this as a from of protection from the mob since it holds them out to economic blackmail. I'm sure they felt they had no choice since they had no eonomic or defense umbrella left standing.

  2. Addendum follows about....now.

One question you won't hear from the "press" today: If John McCain was the elected President, would all those changing paramaters, capabilites and intel allow you to draw the same conclusion? My guess is no.

  6. Rebecca, at the very least, we're going to see war in Eurasia and the Middle East, probably centered on Iran. Preferably IN Iran, but I rather doubt it.

I don't think Russia will start a war (economically and demographically, they're hosed), but they will bully anyone they can, and that could escalate. Iran, on the other hand, is crazy enough to start one.

Plus, Russia and Iran are too close to each other. They'll want to find out who the biggest kid on the block is, sooner or later.
