You know, maybe we’ve been a little hard on Van Jones. Why, lots of commies are just regular, patriotic Americans - like these folks here.
Happy Labor Day, comrades!

"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
The theme music should be L'Internationale.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the Americans entranced by Communism in the pre-World War II Soviet Union, under Stalin. They believed that it was a "workers' paradise", and some of them even went there to experience it. More fools they. (I recall a movie based on this book, but I can't find it right now.)
These folks are just as naive.
Perhaps you're thinking of Reds, based on the communist part of John Reed's life? He was a textbook case of naive stupidity and eventual disillusionment.
ReplyDeleteI believe that's it, Rebecca. I found that movie to be a portrayal of classic nativity and foolishness. Much like the tools in the YouTube video Paco posted.
ReplyDeleteThere is one element missing from that video. A vital element if the party is to expand the membership.
ReplyDeleteI can believe they are real live actual communists.
Because anyone with actual capitalist marketing skills would have thrown a few hot chicks into the video mix ...
...to lure people along to meetings, & things like that, Y'know. Sorta like PETA does. (Now THERE'S an outfit I could get intersted in!)
Steve: Yeah, you're right. The lady whose hobbies include crocheting doesn't quite cut it.

ReplyDeleteMust have been this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_Horizon_(film)
Cheers
I didn't think you were allowed to tape 12-step meetings...
ReplyDeleteNMP: See? Even commies can't trust commies.
