You Can't Keep a Good Coyote Down

Man, these animals are extremely resilient! (See here for original news article and video. H/T: Exurban League).

Update: A couple of commenters have reminded me of a particularly resilient coyote...

  1. Amazing. No "You Can't Keep a Good Coyote Down". Suffering no major injuries...Truly amazing.

When coyotes begin to howl close to this area of the Smoky's, it drives the Collies and Corgis wild.

Seems as though they want to join the chorus. Oy Vey.

On my way to the Florida beach house one early morning, ('tis the only time of day to drive through Atlanta)saw a coyote just kinda' lazin' around a parking lot between a liquor store and a little corner grocery store.

Thought to myself...pity the poor over imbiber that happens upon wiley coyote.

  2. El C.: Back in 2003, a guy cutting his grass on a riding lawn mower was attacked by a rabid coyote in New Kent County, VA. He kicked at him a few times and finally managed to get inside his house, where he hauled out his shotgun and made short work of the coyote. I've also read about sightings near the Washington Metro in East Falls Church, VA.

  3. Holy Moley Batman.

Rabid is one thing, but for some reason, your comment reminded me of...

    Clouseau: Does yer dewg bite?
    Inn Keeper: No
Clouseau: Nice Doggy (bends down to pet a dachshund - it snarls and bites him)
I thought you said yer dewg did not bite!
Inn Keeper: Zat... iz not my dog!

...I have no idea why it did, but...:)

  5. They are resilient. I remember seeing one take a hammering time after time while trying to take down a road runner.

  6. Last year, when I went to Texas to visit my cousins, I spotted a coyote by the side of the road. A mile later, a roadrunner ran across the road. Coincidence? I think not.
