Take a Bow

Emperor Akihito: "All your apologies are belong to us!"

Can't take this guy anywhere.

Update: I think the only reason he didn't actually kneel is because the Empress forgot to whip out that cushion strapped to her back.

Update II: Haw!

Along with the forward base on Okinawa. Successive Democrative administrations have given away key strategic assests. Look for this guy to double down, at the very least. Will the groundwork for this be laid when Obama meets with their most leftist head of state? Funny that the Japanese, of all people, would be upset about a few well publicised cases of rape, but then we're not a brutal occupying force.

  3. Akihito would be saying, "Ah perfect position for lopping off his head - just like our troops treated POWs back in father's time".

  4. Bowing is polite in Japan, but it's very nuanced. If a Head of State bows to the Emperor, it should be only a shallow bow - like the Emp is doing in the pic.

A deep bow like that one signifies a subordinate.
