More Better Smartness

As an employee of a federal agency, I've seen confusion, vagueness, and ignorance on a daily basis since Obama's political appointees took over (which failings, of course, have in no way undermined the supreme confidence they possess in their own infallibility). But it's a lot more dangerous when this kind of idiocy takes place in Afghanistan - when the genius in the White House apparently forgets the orders he actually gave to General McChrystal.

How ironic to have a commander-in-chief who doesn't understand the most basic elements of command; this is likely to hinder him in his larger goal of establishing an imperial presidency.

Maybe he considers the war a mere distraction from something more important.

  1. Dang. Until somebody in government realizes that the purpose of war is to kill enemies and not get your own people killed due to stupid policies, I'm going to advise folks in my family to NOT reenlist.

  2. Biden is having some influence on Afghanistan policy, it seems. This charlie foxtrot has his touch of stupid all over it.

  3. BTW, Paco, as a fellow federal employee, it's only fair to point out that the level of daily confusion, vagueness, and ignorance in the Federal work place has risen since The Once™ ascended to The White House. Confusion, vagueness, and ignorance are the norm.

Of course, your agency may well have functioned at a lower of level of inherent chaos BO*. All I can say is that the level at mine is nearly at an all time, SO.*

*: BO = "Before Obama"; SO = "Since Obama". I'm looking forward to AO, or "After Obama".

  5. Hey! Here's clear proof about the "...confusion, vagueness, and ignorance on a daily basis since Obama's political appointees took over...".

Not to mention their arrogance in their own infallibility.

Quick! Someone get Obama a clue!

  6. Jeff: It's ridiculous, isn't it? You don't know from one day to the next what these guys plan to do.

My agency has always been fairly well-insulated from this kind of crap, but not anymore. The new chairman came in with probably a dozen politicals (his chief of staff wants to hire seven more - all this in an agency with less than 400 employees).

I guess the upside of all this is, if you've got an administration hell-bent on establishing socialism, it's a good thing they're so mind-bogglingly incompetent. We may still narrowly avoid tumbling off the precipice.

That would be ironic indeed, and certainly a welcome outcome. That chief of staff clearly doesn't understand one long proven principal: too many cooks spoil the broth. Lefties have a hard time with that one, it goes against their training.

My employing agency (which is much larger than yours) still hasn't figured out that principal. It's amazing just how deep one can stack the bureaucracy with so little effort.

  8. How can anyone be expected to know what the geniuses in government are going to do next when even they don't know?
