That would be Rep. Hank Johnson, DEMOCRAT - GEORGIA, who suggested at a hearing that relocating 8,000 Navy personnel to Guam might make the island tip over.

The really sad thing about this guy? He beat Cynthia McKinney.
ReplyDeleteAs Allahpundit put it, "All things considered, I think I still prefer him to her. Barely."
Johnson, by reports, has hepatitis-C which appears to have affected his mental capacity. Which leads to the question: Why haven't his fellow Democrats prevailed on him to take medical retirement? It's not as if the Fourth Congressional District -- Cynthia McKinney's old district -- is about to elect a Republican, after all.
ReplyDeleteThat video was sad, and at the same time, infuriating. I felt sorry for the guy, but why is he still in office? It's obvious he's not up to the job now (I leave to others who know him better to judge whether he ever was).
ReplyDeleteI feel sorrier for the 8000 squids being sentenced to Guam...
ReplyDeleteTake retirement? One more term and he'll be eligible to chair the Ways and Means committee!
ReplyDeleteIdiot! Everybody knows that the only thing that will tip over an island is global warming.

Since that came up on April 1st, it wasn't a April Fools joke was it?

Nope. Not a joke.
ReplyDeleteI saw a comment, at Ace's I think, asking why the people can't just live on the underside of the island when it becomes the new top.
ReplyDeleteHow is that Johnson can find his way to work each day?
