Be Careful What You Ask For

Marc Thiessen points out in his latest column that GOP establishment types who have been pushing conservatives to focus on fiscal, as opposed to social, issues, are getting what they asked for - good and hard.

  1. This popular movement for limited government and fiscal responsibility might well sweep the Democrats out of power in November -- but it might also sweep some establishment Republicans out with them.

    I fail to see the downside here.

  2. One possible downside: McCain, Graham and Steele as permanent "conservative" pundits on Sunday Morning Talkfests.

  3. I'm safe on Sundays even though I don't go to church - I don't watch any of the Sunday morning blatherers. If it ain't baseball or NASCAR, I don't even turn it on weekend mornings.

    Fox News Channel shows Fox News Sunday in the afternoon, but by that time, it's more baseball or NASCAR, so it's all good there.

    Then, if any of the former CongressWeasels says anything important or noteworthy, I have Paco, Richard, Swampie, JP, and Smitty to let me know, usually in an amusing fashion. Win-Win!
