All aboard for Ekaterinburg!

The Republicans are off to a good start. More than two dozen of them have introduced legislation to get rid of Obama's 39 czars.

That's an excellent step, but like all the bills the Republicans are introducing, I'll wait to see if anything actually comes of it.

This could be an interesting separation of powers issue. The creation of a Czar position seems well within the perview of the Executive Branch but the funding of said position falls within the purview of the Legislative Branch.

It was interesting to read the difference in thrust between the Bush and Obama Czars. The Bush appointments were heavy with national security issues while the Obama appointments are not.

Congress usually just goes along with this stuff since most of the time Czars are benign. Bush used them more as an information conduit and to coordinate policy issues between the two branches of government. Obama, on the other hand, has used them to sidestep the legislative process and joined them with various agencies in a direct attack on our freedom via the Federal Register. You could call this subrosa method the cockroach approach.

New bumper sticker; Defund a Czar, save a forest.

I could be wrong on the constitutinal issue. It would be interesting to hear from people who are better informed on such matters.

The one good idea the Bolsheviks ever had was how to deal with tsars.
