Australia in the news

A race horse jumped over the wrong fence in a steeplechase event in Warrnambol, Victoria, and landed in a crowd of spectators.

My guess is the horse was enraged after having read Bob Ellis’s most recent column.

it wouldn't be an ozzie sporting event without at least one fight...

I'd enjoy having fisticuffs with Bob Ellis, or using him for sport in some way.

BTW, I think the fence the horse jumped was near 10 ft high! Amazing.

It was an english-style steeplechase event which is rare here.

Imagine the horse's reaction: "WTF are all these people doing here?"

It's the Coriolis Effect. Sneaks up on you when you least expect it. It won't reverse the toilet flow, but it plays heck with jumping horses.

One thing about Australia all our friends should know: We all loved Lionel Rose, aboriginal boxing champion. Way before all this 'racism' hysteria, 100s of thousands of us went into the streets in the 60's to celebrate his brilliant boxing win. Now he's gone. Very sad.
