The road Betty MacDonald's chicken farm was on is on the Olympic Peninsula in Western Washington, a little south of Port Townsend.
Steve: The Egg and I! The first appearance of Ma and Pa Kettle before they got their own movie series.
Incidentally, while McDonald is best known for The Egg and I, she also wrote probably the funniest book ever about TB.Okay, the only funny book about TB. But if you can find a copy of The Plague and I, it's worth a read. You will laugh until you stop.
