Man, they don’t make stonewalls like they used to

The Fast and Furious scandal may turn out to be something that is unraveling so quickly that it’s likely to burn up Eric Holder’s information spindle. Looks like some of those guns destined for Mexico – which, I should point out, was a bad idea in its own right – are now turning up on the streets in Phoenix.

Update: It just keeps getting worse.

  1. If Holder isn't looking for an emergency exit, he needs to be.

  2. If the Republicans don't make hay out of this during the election campaign, there's no hope.

  3. Given Iran-Contra and 'Plamegate' I'd suggest that Congressional hearings, criminal trials, and prison terms for some govt officials are now in order. Let's hope the NYT goes after this as hard as they did the Plame affair. [Of course, that would make my head explode, but still . . .]

  4. Turns out those guns were bought with Stimulus money.

1500 Mexican corpses created or saved!

  5. Does any of this stuff matter in an election?

In my experience (I'm a 50 year old American) it never has.

Somebody said, "It's the economy stupid."

  6. Anon: It matters, whether it ultimately has a bearing on the election or not.

  7. ALL the Dem leadership was in on this. Obama. Pelosi. Reid. Remember how they all simultaneously started putting out sound bites to the lapdog press about gun control? And who approved that money for the program? THEY ARE ALL COMPLICIT in the murder of Mexican civilians and law enforcement and politicians as well as U.S. law enforcement. For all we know, U.S. civilians are getting murdered by those weapons, too.

  8. Was this one of the "shovel ready" projects that Obama and Company touted?
