Update and bumped to the top: Nancy Pelosi now on board with Emanuel Cleaver for a Satan sandwich down at the Beelzebub Buffet.
Here are some reactions to the proposed debt-ceiling compromise (yet to be approved by both houses of Congress, mind you).
Michael Barone thinks that Obama is the big loser.
Arianna Huffington reluctantly agrees.
Dog bites man: Byron Yorkcatches Harry Reid in the act of committing hypocrisy.
Gateway Pundit has Boehner’s summary of the deal, while Legal Insurrection has the bill, itself.
Left Coast Rebel is skeptical, as is Bill Wilson.
On the other hand, anything the New York Times absolutely hates can’t be all bad.
All I can say is, does this Satan sandwich taste funny to you? And is it acceptable to wash it down with this?

It just passed the House. 66 Repubs voted against.
ReplyDeleteGiffords was on the floor and voted. That means she will be well enough to run for the senate next year. Say hello to your next senator. Giffords and McCain. Any tickets left for Canada?
Who lost in this? The American public.
The only part I like is the demonstration that even Democrats who call themselves "moderate" are batshit crazy. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteThe NYT et al don't even begin to understand why this happened. No matter what the polls with slanted questions tried to show, it looks like the great unwashed American public wants to QUIT SPENDING SO FUCKING MUCH!!!
Maybe this deal doesn't cut actual spending, but it seems to at least slow it down.
As for Giffords, until she can stand in front of a camera and answer an honest question in her own voice, I don't think she can win. You may notice that so far you have heard precisely zero complete sentences in her own voice.
I give up. I no longer know what the hell they're doing in Washington. Clown show? Three-ring circus? Roman orgy? None of that can even begin to describe it.
