Dana Andrews and Linda Darnell get the chemistry going in Fallen Angel.

"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
Linda Darnell was drop-dead gorgeous. And played it to the hilt in plenty of noirs (among others).

I've seen it. Extremely funny!
ReplyDeleteShe was only 22 in 1945, when Fallen Angel was made.
Agree on Linda Darnell. Never really though of Dana Andrews as a leading man type. To me, he seems to slip through the cracks in terms of casting, never quite making it in any category.
ReplyDeleteBuuuut, my opinions have been in error sometimes. I hope y'all were sitting down when you read that shocking admission.:)
Probably his best role was as the terrified would-be rancher who gets lynched in The Ox-Bow Incident.
ReplyDeleteTo me his is somewhere between a leading man and a "character actor". I just can't really classify him. Perhaps I just never cared for him that much. That may have a good deal to do with it, I guess.
