Pictures at an Occupation

I paid a visit to McPherson Park today, the site where Occupy DC's soviet gathers every afternoon. Attendance has increased since I last sauntered by, and I tell you, the revolution is beginning to look like it's for real. Get a load of these photos (click to enlarge).

Professional graphics!

Catchy slogans!

Socialist infrastructure!

Unlimited resources!

We are up against it now, my fellow running dogs of capitalism!

That donation jug looks like a convenient (if somewhat exposed) urinal.....

Is that a trebuchet?

And let's watch it on the bottle attack--I've got one i the corner that is about a third full of coins after 20 years of pocket cleaning.

Larry: If that's French for "step-ladder", yeah.

I figured if they are leading us into the Stone Age, they.....That is probably way too much thinking for them, isn't it?

"Occupy" is quite an apt name for the movement(?). They're just taking up space. When they do have ideas, they're quite despicable...

Chris Christie on a pogo stick. These people are like dog hair. I take a week's break from the internet, and when I come back, they're still there, clinging and crying because Mommy didn't tell them there's no such thing as a free lunch.

I prefer to be called a "Capitalist Roader" if you don't mind.

Speaking of movements…

There’s a lot of stuff we wouldn’t have to clean up if the city provided basic human rights, like a Port-A-Potty,” said demonstrator Gene Wagner. “If you would’ve given us a Port-A-Potty 30 days ago, we would’ve maintained it ourselves.

They can't be bothered to bring their own port-a-potty or even bag their own waste but they claim they'd maintain a port-a-potty?

I suggest they could have organized a poo collection committee who followed their fellow protesters around and then picked up after them in fact NYC law requires pet owners to do just that. A even more appropriate suggestion would be that they wear diapers.

'Pictures at an Occupation' by exhibitionists... and assorted brats.

Clever title, Paco.

Predictably Rome erupts in flames in their 'occupation'. Thank you George Soros:

This is being orchestrated. Why isn't the FBI on this case?

(btw , does anyone remember when an occupation was considered the worst thing ever?)

Bruce, CNN repeatedly assured me that anarchists infiltrated the peaceful protesters at the Rome Occupation and it is only the anarchists who are breaking into ATMs, burning cars and smashing windows. Infiltrations like this has happened before. Strange how the violent anarchists never infiltrated a TEA party protest and started rioting and setting things on fire. Just lucky I guess.

Caspar's kin spake thusly, saying:

As is often the case my lack of faith in "luck" is sustained.

It appears to me that the tea party movement gatherings have a strong sense of purpose and identity and commitment to standards and beliefs.

A few observations that I think point to the soul on the one hand and the lack of it on the other.

Notice in the current riots the utter lack of machine-mass-produced signs--I think in reaction to fact the tea party movement does not have a central control providing signs like the earlier progressive riots had. (Too bad the current lot didn't pick up on the "clean up after yourself" mantra. Hmmm... I'll have to think some of the entitlement or the "mother will clean up after me" mentalities.)

Notice in the tea party movment gatherings how interlopers are quickly identified and isolated, while the rioters never do catch on to the O'Keefe's in their midst.

But the most telling thing is probably that the tea party movement has a clear corporate picture of what was and is pretty good, and what wrong has been done to it, while the rioters operate from a basis that all is rotten and always has been and always will be, and there is no clear idea what to do about it except destroy it and salt the earth behind them.

O/T
Just some words of wisdom from a Yojimbo. Teams that coughup 9 runs in one inning don't fare too well. Sorry about your Tigers, Paco. At least both University of Arizona pitchers got in the game tonight for the Tigers.

Yes, that is doing it the hard way.

I suspect those Kindergarden Kropotkins would stand out a bit more at a Tea Party.

History suggests that they almost instantly attract people with signs literally pointing them out as infiltrators (needed for the "press" cameras, not the tea party movement people).

I'd step up to the donations bottle and help myself. Hey, a protester's gotta eat, and it's the government's job to supply it! What're you, some kinda capitalist?
