Canadian devises unique security system.

Woman responds to flasher with, er, withering comment.

What can we, as citizens, do to make Obama like us? (H/T: Captain Heinrichs)

  1. The Saskatchewan Lion is priceless! As is the flasher-bashing granny, and Frank Fleming's satire.

  2. What can we, as citizens, do to make Obama like us?

Unemployed people, like me, are really hurting the Dick's chances of being reelected, so maybe we should all just commit suicide, or something. Republicans only, of course. He wouldn't want to lose the votes of all his happily unemployed supporters.

Oh, wait. They're Democrats, so they could still vote after they're dead. The best of both worlds!

  3. The lion was great! Hope his ruse plays for awhile. Maybe the "lion" will find his courage to take on the thieves.

The flasher reminded me of college. There was a young lady confronted not far from my dorm. He pulled her into the bushes, and dropped his trousers, but he didn't expect her to start laughing. He fled.

As for the "open letter", there is no way that Obama can be like us. No matter how hard he and Michelle try. Not even her trip to Target. We like our country and think it is exceptional. We believe it is the land of opportunity, not the land of free cheese. We, the ordinary people, don't hate the rich people, like the Obamas. We believe that if we work hard and upwards to a a position that pays big bucks, invest, and aren't over indulgent, then we can be "rich" too.

  4. Deborah Leigh's comment reminds me of a time three decades ago, when Mr. H and I were part owners of a bar with his dad, the Retired Trucker, to wit: the free government cheese problem is not new.

Our regular drinkers would come in with blocks of cheese and butter they were issued by the government (because they were on food stamps and/or welfare--- don't ask, as one is supposed to be exclusive of the other), and offer them as payment for beer. Our bartenders, who didn't make much money (we were never rich), would take the cheese and butter bribes and pay the cost of the beer into the till (it was cheaper for them, and they were at least honest). We knew about it, and we looked the other way, because we saw how our bartenders generally lived (if we could have given them more, we would have, but this was the during the Collapse of the Rust Belt, you understand).

But this is how it progresses. Notice that word "progress". Back then, we laid it down to globalism (China, etc, with workers who would work for rat meat and rice), and automation, and certainly those things were key. But nobody noticed how government was gradually inserting OSHA and EPA and a dozen other acronyms into the body politic, how truly malignant the growth was into areas that had been healthy, and how whole groups of citizens were being funneled into permanent dependency (some of us still thought "welfare" was just temporary, but we were learning big time).

Being bar owners, we knew there were people who would never get out of poverty because they were mired (or addicted) into a certain life view. This life view is writ large in certain segments of society, and our educational system isn't equipped to educate them out of it. We can barely educate the kids with middle class advantages, these days, thanks to the supremacy of Self Esteem and the war against Dead White Males.

We can blame Obama, and we should, because at his age, he should know better than to buy into this rotten philosophy. But he didn't start it. What we have to do is end it, once and for all.

Sorry for the rant. Wv is whina, blame that.

  6. Congrats, JXM. My Tigers evened up their series against the Yankees, and the Lions are looking for real, coming back from a 20 point deficit to beat Dallas.

  7. RebeccaH, your rant was great! Preach on, sister! Further proof are the Occupy Wall Street protests. These "kids" have been told that everyone is "owed" everything. They wouldn't be happy with the government commodities (cheese, rice, butter). No, they have the gaul to demand healthcare, education, etc. for everyone, even those who are illegally here. Love what NYPD did to the nannybrats! Wish we could ship them to a third world hell hole...or an assisted living home where the senior citizens can tell them the way it was. Deploy the orange nets NOW!!

The best sign was obviously from a infiltrator. It said, "We came here for the bubblegum...they're out of the purple".
