Better late than never

North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il was apparently more "il" than we knew.

Update: Top 10 crazy facts about Kim Jong Il (H/T: Tim Blair).

Update II: The North Korean dictator was a buffoon, but we should remember that he was an extraordinarily evil man, drunk on his own power, and responsible for perpetuating one of the most barbarous political systems in history.

  1. So happy right now, as is everyone... if not also a little apprehensive.

  2. Oh, c'mon. We knew he was on death's door ages ago.

  3. I think Paco Enterprise's Personal Lamp Post and Fine Hemp Division should send a gift to the new Kim Jong-Bong. Or posssibly a Colt .45 Peacemaker, with one round, from the personal collection.

Time for the people of that country to finally embrace and enjoy freedom, and a full meal.

  4. I really, really like this tweet from Overlawyered's Walter Olson:

"When someone dies you're only supposed to say something good. Kim Jong Il died. Good."

  5. Here's what gets me: headlines say 'US and Japan watching nervously' 'The world holds its breath' to see what comes next in N Korea.

At this point I sound like Ron Paul, though I disagree with everything else he says:

We have a half-century of CIA and affiliates. Plus billions in military spending, thousands of lives lost fighting, and 'watching nervously' 'holding its breath'? WTF?

My motto is, Go large or go home. Ron Paul says go home. No I say the west has earned power, which should be used, and that western power benefits the rest, whatever they say. The power is there, we are just being too nice and refraining.

We should be demanding, not timidly 'watching'.
