One of my favorite Republican presidential candidates who’s not running for President

I wish Paul Ryan would have tossed his hat in the ring, but he’s doing good work in Congress, and now he has pledged to support conservatives in primary contests throughout the nation.
[T]he Wisconsin congressman plans to ask supporters to donate to his Prosperity PAC to help elect members of Congress “who aren’t afraid to make the tough, but necessary, decisions to secure our fiscal future…”

“We need to replace timid Members of Congress with bold conservatives who know what needs to be done.”
Amen to that. One thing that is vitally important for all of us to remember is that the battle for conservative principles isn’t just, or even primarily, at the presidential level. The make-up of the Senate and the House of Representatives – and governorships, state legislative bodies, and other arms of state and local government – is critical for a number of reasons, among which three stand out as paramount: (1) keeping the president – and elected officials at the national level, in general - honest; (2) institutionalizing the resurgence of our commitment to limited government and individual freedom; and (3) improving the “farm” system for the development of future leaders (e.g., one-day-I-hope, President Marco Rubio).

Deborah Leigh said... We need to replace Republican so-called leadership with those that will go on the offense. Have press conferences everyday, if need be. Call the President and the Democrats out everytime they lie, mislead, and divide. There are 22 jobs bills in the House, yet Obama repeats the tired old line that Republicans don't have anything and won't compromise. Call him the rich guy that he is. Democrats always act like their the little guy, when in fact they have the same bank accounts of the people they are making war against. Divide and conquer strategy. And some Conservatives buy it.

And don't forget the school boards. We have to take back the school boards. We have to destroy the pernicious narrative and propaganda factory.

The left has been very good at infiltrating these boards over the last few decades.

The campaigns for smaller offices is becoming as important (maybe even more so) than the campaign for president. We're likely to get a president this time around that not many are going to be happy with, so what we need are elected officials who actually respresent the electorate and who also have the power to constrain the Big Frogs, who think they're king of our pond.
