California's economy is saved!

Governor Jerry Brown has scrapped the state's requirement for an annual report on kangaroo harvesting in Australia.

Maybe one of my California readers can explain why this information was ever considered a matter of importance to state authorities.

  1. What does importance or relevance have to do with anything? It created more government jobs and was more than likely a payoff for a vote or something.

    Geez Louise.

  2. I would like to hear from one of our Aussie friends: what do they do with the kangaroos they "harvest"?

I apologize for my stupidity. I didn't know they had a use for kangaroos, besides entertaining tourists.

  3. Roo meat low in fat but high in protein and minerals, and tasty.

  4. So, do they use combines or what, exactly?

  5. It's a political stunt.

"Look, voters, I'm making California goobermint more efficient by deleting reports that I never read in the first place!"

    In other words:

    "Look! Bunnies!!!!!!"

Probably works with the lefties. Who no doubt blame Arnold Schwarzenegger for everything.

  6. Roos are shot, usually, and then thrown into the backs of utes. No combine harvesters are used.
Strangely, one does not often hear of turkeys, chickens, ducks, quails, cows, pigs and other animals Californians like to eat being “harvested”.

  7. I should add, perhaps, that by “shot” I mean with firearms and not by, say, springalds, trebuchets or mangonels.

  8. Sounds like one of Paco Enterprises hi-quality glueball update reports. Damn we'll have to make a more competitive offer. Wombat scats? Black cockatoos? A snake count (highly venomous eastern brown: wet weather brings frogs, frogs bring snakes...)? All available at a discount rate!

Did you know it takes 60 brushtail possums to make a decent coat? Easy on a good night. Hunt on a full moon, aim for their silhouette! Sweet meat too.

  9. So, do they use combines or what, exactly?

And how many kangaroos per acre(k/a) do they normally harvest?

I wonder if John Deere is aware of the potential market for roo harvesters?

  10. But... but...

    What about SKIPPY?

Does this mean he can't be Governor-General anymore? Not EVER?

    Rather unproductive method of harvest.

  12. Deborah Leigh...Democrats care, they really care about every living thing...right. Now if they'd only care about the farmers in the central valley who lost everything when they turned off the water in order to save the "Delta" smelt, a fish about the size of your index finger that isn't even native. Or how about scrapping the high speed rail project that is costing E680 BILLION in interest on only one of the portions!

Brown's micro step is a show only as it can not make a dent in the defecit of the once great state that led all the others. We had the third largest economy in the world! We were a breadbasket! We were the Golden State. Now it is only Pyrite.

  13. So, Deb, you're saying California is not saved?

    … just cods-wallop.

    Cheers
