Some acts of violence are more equal than others

This one, for example, was ignored not only by the media, but by the police.

Things are really starting to get scary in this country.

If it really was a black-on-white hate crime (and I cringe at writing "hate crime", as if there were any other kind), the conservative blogosphere will probably refrain from the kind of ginned up outrage and calls for tit for tat that the leftosphere is notorious for. In the first place, it's not our nature. Secondly, we have already observed and vowed not to emulate that politically and racially charged feeding frenzy that characterized the Trayvon Martin travesty.

We can certainly count on the MSM not to exacerbate racial anger over black on non-black assault. Whew. Lucky us.

I'm in favor of ditching "hate crime" statutes. A felony's a felony, regardless of the motive.
