Of course, the nutrition Nazis have to disguise it with a pc
headline: “11 Worst Burgers in America”.

"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
Deborah Leigh said...The sodium on those things is atrocius. Those with kidney disease are only supposed to have 1500 mg. But the proposed alternates aren't much better. They guy is clearly a crackpot, not only for this but because he doesn't like those fried thin onions. What! They are the best!
ReplyDeleteFunny, now I want a big juicy burger.
Being an Australian, the problem I have with those burgers is the lack of beetroot....
ReplyDeleteBeetroot...m'y-e-s...Quite, quite.
ReplyDeleteThat should be "Quite so", Paco.
ReplyDeleteI don't eat burgers in most of those places, but if I did [or when I rarely do] I wouldn't put that phony cheese on them. BurgerKing has a double Whopper, no cheese, no mayo [they'll still "make it your way"] that's pretty decent once in a blue moon. I may go buy on tomorrow just to tell the food nazis to "sod off, swampy!"
ReplyDeleteI like Five Guys - and I eat the 'little' one w/Ketchup,Mustard,Picke,Onion. But I prefer Steak-n-Shake regular burgers. KMPO - haven't had a cheeseburger in years (cuz most of the time, it ain't cheese).
ReplyDeleteAnd I'd happily eat beetroot on my burger!
I also must mention - we go out for burgers about twice a year. Maybe. When I eat out, I prefer t get something I can't make - or can't make better - at home. So it's usually Thai or Vietnamese or Mexican or Soul.
ReplyDeleteMind you, none of your shenanigans with putting onion in the meat and stuff like that. A normal, back-yard grill burger, with cheese and mustard. And a slab of red onion. Oh, ok, and pickles. No, no lettuce, thanks...
ReplyDeleteWhat? Whaddaya mean, "we don't actually have any"? What kinda cheap rip-off is this?
Regardless of your personal culinary preferences, the finger wagging in that article is nauseating.
ReplyDeleteSigh
ReplyDeleteBurgers.
I went looking for a video of Heston Blumental making a burger (because the instructions on making the patty are very good), and instead I found this pearler:
