Announcing the formation of the Committee to Horsewhip Brian Ross

Oh, he could just taste it, yes, indeedy! The kudos of his fellow talking airheads, the biggest scoop of the year - who knows, maybe even an Emmy Award for investigative journalism. James Holmes was the name of the mass murderer at the cinema complex in Aurora, Colorado, and, by golly, there was a James Holmes listed on a local Tea Party web site! ABC News' Brian Ross, ace reporter, had scored!

Only it was what you might call an own goal. The Tea Party Holmes wasn't the mass murderer Holmes. Interesting, though, that somebody on Ross's staff apparently made a bee line for a Tea Party web site. They're really not going to be satisfied until they pin an act of extreme violence on us.

Iowahawk, incidentally, is showing Ross no mercy on Twitter.

Horsewhipping is almost too good for Brian Ross and the editorial staff that supported this smear -- it's over too soon.

But I'm hard pressed to think of anything better.

Watch the video where George Stuffingless first asks him what he had found.

He's looks like a kid opening Christmas presents.

Tea party! Tea Party! Tea Party!

You just know the first thing they Googled was James Holmes+Tea Party.

YoJ: You know that's right.

Paco, YoJ: That's journalism these days.

"And the award for "Best Portrayal of a Journalist" goes to Brian Ross and the best smear since "Ann Romney's horse" goes to the Ross team.

"OT: (but related) Any bets on whether the Tea Party's James Holmes has retained legal representation? BTW, our Friday Night Lefties, having not been given any new talking points carried on with their old slogans. They were confused by our cased flags and simple message, 'Pray for Aurora Colorado.'"

Brian Ross (whoever he is) has merely demonstrated that the liberal mindset transcends critical thinking and any sense of decency. As if we needed any more demonstrations.

@Yojimbo: So, now we know to google "shooter" + occupy every time. Much better odds.

Oh, I can think of better things than horsewhipping, but there's some things that it would be inhumane to do to fireants.

He probably expected to win a Tony Award for investigative journalism. He's really not that detail oriented.

You might think your Lee Harvey Oswald pic is a parody but I know more than one person who insists that the defecting communist Oswald was either right wing or he was compelled to do it by right wing rhetoric.

John Kenneth Galbraith almost immediately blamed the assassination on the right wing, and there has been no shortage of conspiracy goofballs (including Oliver Stone) who have believed the same thing.

Add a lash or two from me.

There is at least one political shooting they can blame directly on Republicans : in 1912 John Schrank tried to assassinate Teddy Roosevelt because a Republican told him to do it. Specifically, the ghost of William McKinley told him to do it.

Paco said...

I never did trust McKinley.

Col. Milquetoast said...

Uh oh, nobody tell Brian Ross about this.

McKinley, like Taft, had gravity.

Cheers

“McKinley, like Taft, had gravity.”

Yeah, typical of The Man, keeping us down, man.

Re: Col. Milquetoast, it's not as if they've ever had EVIDENCE or anything...that's not a requirement for a lefty theory.

KC, you mean calling themselves "the reality based community" doesn't eliminate the need back up things with facts or logic? I like turning it around and accusingly asking if the left's ugly rhetoric about Reagan and Nixon caused assassination attempts. Belligerence ensues.

actually, I sincerely doubt they really believe it. I think it is an indicator that someone is a mindless political hack.

Deborah Leigh said...Thank you, Paco for labeling this evil creature as he is, a mass murderer. He didn't kill the victims. He murdered them. It is a very important distinction.
